Britney Jean Spears (born December 2, 1981) is a Grammy Award-winning American pop singer, dancer, actress, author and songwriter. She is best known for her studio albums, music videos, and songs such as "...Baby One More Time", "Oops!...I Did It Again", "I'm a Slave 4 U" and the Grammy Award-winning "Toxic". Spears has sold over seventy-six million records worldwide according to TIME magazine. Having sold over 31 million albums in the U.S., Spears ranks as the eighth best-selling female artist in American music history.

Spears first came to fame as a member of the Mickey Mouse Club in the early 1990s, after which she took a five-year break from entertainment. She subsequently emerged at the forefront of the pop music scene in early 1998, thanks to her debut album, ...Baby One More Time, which was crafted by Swedish producer-songwriter Max Martin. Her second album, Oops!...I Did It Again, was released the following year. In the early 2000s, Spears' success as a singer led her way to high-profile advertising deals and endorsements, as well as forays into other forms of media, including film and reality television. Her third and fourth albums, Britney and In The Zone, were released during this era and included more artistic input from Spears, but yielded lower sales.

In 2004, she married dancer and aspiring rap artist Kevin Federline and the following year she gave birth to their son, Sean Preston. Their second son, Jayden James, was born in 2006. Eight weeks after the birth of her second child, Spears filed for divorce from Federline, citing irreconcilable differences.

Britney Spears' personal life has attracted considerable media attention. Some people believe that she has courted it by cultivating, in her early years at least, a chaste, God-fearing and "wholesome" image. This was somewhat at odds, not only with the traditional pressures, temptations and opportunities of "pop 'n' roll", but with the increasingly sexualized content of her own image and songs. Spears' kiss with Madonna at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards received much media attention, as have her marriages and romantic relationships.

It began in April 1999 when a then 17-year-old Spears was featured on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine in a sexually suggestive Lolita-themed photoshoot which triggered speculation that the singer had breast implants.

In August 2003, Spears caused more controversy with a photoshoot by photographer Michael Thompson which appeared in W. The photos displayed Spears in a dominatrix-inspired shoot, complete with sexually suggestive poses. In the interview by Rob Haskell which accompanied the photos, Spears admitted to having lost her virginity to ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake two years into their relationship. She also revealed that she enjoys tobacco smoking, and that she kissed Colin Farrell but had no serious relationship with him.

The sexualized public image of Spears once again became a topic of debate as a result of her November 2003 semi-nude photospread for men's magazine Esquire. Prompted by this, Playboy reportedly offered the star over one million USD to pose nude for their magazine, but Spears publicly declined. In an interview with Diane Sawyer, she was asked if she had ever gone further than she wished she had with the sexualized photoshoots. Spears responded, "No, I don't think so, no." After the Esquire photos were held up in front of her, she said, "Okay. Now those are a little much. Yeah, those are a little much. That's one picture, I must say, that I felt kind of weird about, yeah."

The 2004 Onyx Hotel Tour brought new criticism. While Spears and her on-stage dancers performed her songs "Touch of My Hand" and "Breathe on Me", they were seemingly nude and performing routines simulating gay sex, orgies and masturbation. As there were underage fans in the audience, there was some outrage at the alleged lack of decency of the performances, as well as reports of adult chaperones angrily storming out with the children they brought to the concert. Spears responded to parents' concerns by stating she is "not their babysitter. It's the parents' responsibility. If you don't like it, then just change the channel. In December 2005, Spears sued US Weekly for a story the magazine published in the column "HOTstuff" of their October 2005 publication. The column, with the headline "Brit & Kev: Secret Sex Tape? New parents have a new worry: racy footage from 2004.", claimed that Spears and her husband had made a sex video and feared it would be distributed. Spears denies the existence of a sex tape, while the magazine states that they have a credible source, which they did not mention in the article. In November 2006 it was reported that the case was dismissed.

Photos published on February 7, 2006, showed Spears driving her SUV in Los Angeles with her infant son, Sean, perched on her lap rather than strapped into a car seat in the back. The photos show Spears holding the wheel of the car with one hand, and her 4-month-old baby with the other. In a statement to People, Spears said she did it because of a "horrifying, frightful encounter with the paparazzi" and that "I was terrified that this time the physically aggressive paparazzi would put both me and my baby in danger. I love my child and would do anything to protect him."[61] No charges were pressed. On April 1, 2006, Spears' 7-month-old son fell and bruised his head after slipping from his nanny's arms as she was lifting him from his high chair and "something snapped in the chair." After an initial examination, he was thought to be fine but six days later Spears and her husband took him to the Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center for a second checkup. He got the all clear once again. Following this visit, child welfare officials, as well as a sheriff's deputy, visited the Spears home. "While there was an automatic report by the hospital to the Department of Children and Family Services, DCFS immediately responded and determined there was no problem and no reason to open a formal investigation," Spears's attorney Marty Singer told People. "They determined that the parents were not involved in any injury and that nothing improper was done within the home."

On May 18, 2006, Spears was photographed leaving the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Manhattan with her 8-month-old son. As Spears walked through the people and paparazzi-crowded street, towards her car, she stumbled. Spears managed to regain her balance and prevent the fall with the aid of her bodyguard, who was close by. After retreating to the F.A.O. Schwarz Café, Spears started crying.

On June 28, 2006, after her televised Dateline interview a pregnant Spears posed nude for the August 2006 cover of Harper's Bazaar, in a photo similar to Demi Moore's September 1991 cover of Vanity Fair. In one photo, Spears is shown wearing only a g-string and open fur coat, and in another she is completely nude with her hands covering her breasts. Her son, Sean, is also featured in the photospread.

In August 2006, a video of Spears began circulating the Internet. In the three-minute video, previously released as a bonus on the Britney and Kevin: Chaotic DVD, Spears seems very disoriented and confused and claims that she is "missing out on life" and that she is generally behind everyone else. Federline tells her it is because of all the partying, to which she strongly disagrees. Spears then begins to try and legitimately convince him that the concept of time travel as portrayed in the Back to the Future series is real.

In November, shortly after her breakup with Federline, Spears was seen on the dance-club circuit with Paris Hilton, and was photographed with no panties by several paparazzi. Divorce lawyer Dylan Mitchell said the appearances could hurt her child custody case if Federline chooses to argue that Spears is "never home and other people are parenting the children." Spears wrote on her official Web site in December that it had been "so long" since she last joined friends and went "out on the town", and admitted that she "probably" took her newfound freedom "a little too far. On January 22, 2007, Hilton's private life was again thrust into the media spotlight with the launch of ParisExposed.com, a website that claims to feature images of personal documents, video, and other material allegedly obtained when the contents of a storage locker rented by Hilton was auctioned off due to lack of a $208 payment. The site began charging online access to this material.

The owner of the site, Bardia Persa, claims he paid close to US$10 million to acquire the items from Nabil and Nabila Haniss, a couple who paid US$2,775 for the contents of the storage unit. Persa stated he expects to break even on the purchase, as his website received 1.2 million visitors in just over 40 hours. Among the contents of the container found were medications, diaries, photographs, contracts and love letters, as well as a video of her shot by Joe Francis of Girls Gone Wild, whom she once dated.

Hilton filed a federal lawsuit on January 27, 2007 against the Haniss couple and Persa. Hilton said that a moving company was responsible for paying the storage fees for the locker. On February 3, 2007 the judge presiding over the lawsuit issued a temporary injunction against ParisExposed.com, in an effort to keep the site from releasing personal information about Hilton.

Sharon Vonne Stone (born March 10, 1958) is an Academy Award nominated, Golden Globe and Emmy winning American actress, producer, and former fashion model. She came to international attention for her performance in the 1992 Hollywood blockbuster film Basic Instinct.
She married television producer Michael Greenburg in 1984 on the set of The Vegas Strip War, a TV movie he produced and she starred in, along with Rock Hudson and James Earl Jones. Medical problems

Shortly after the release of Total Recall, Stone had a car accident on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. Immediately after the accident, she went home, not knowing she had just suffered a concussion. She woke up almost completely paralyzed and ended up lying on the floor, crying, for three days. Rose Jane McGowan (born September 5) is an American actress, known for her role as Paige Matthews in Charmed (see image on right). She has also appeared in Hollywood films including Scream and Jawbreaker. It is not clear exactly what year she was born in. Various sources have listed it as either 1973, 1974, or 1975.

McGowan gained a reputation for playing brassy, violent characters, especially in the film Devil In The Flesh, where she portrayed a serial murderer and stalker while still in high school. In one especially violent scene, she sent her grandmother to a bloody death with her own cane. She was in a very public five-year relationship with shock-rocker Marilyn Manson, and often appeared with him at celebrity events in extremely provocative clothing, such as the chain-mail transparent dress and thong she wore to the 1998 MTV Video Music Awards. Born in Toronto, Ontario, she is a granddaughter of Holocaust survivors. Her father, Sheldon, a journalist for The Canadian Jewish News, was born in a displaced person camp in Germany in 1946. He met her mother, Etti, a Bulgarian Jewish refugee, in Israel. Kirshner has a younger sister.

Kudrow originally intended to follow in her father's footsteps - researching headaches. However, she was 'discovered' and began her career as an actress. She tried out for Saturday Night Live in 1990, but the show chose Julia Sweeney instead. Born Catherine Jones [1] , in Treboeth, Llangyfelach, a working class area of Swansea, West Glamorgan in Wales. She is the middle of three children born to Dai Jones, a Welsh sweet factory owner, and Patricia Fair who hails from an Irish Catholic family.

Her father's cousin is married to singer Bonnie Tyler, who is also Welsh. Her uncle owns Swansea's Škoda car dealership as well as Llanelli A.F.C. football club. Her name stems from those of her grandmothers — her maternal grandmother, Katherine Fair, and her paternal grandmother, Zeta Jones.

After her parents won £100,000 at bingo in the 1980s, they moved to St. Andrews Drive in Mayals, an upper class area of Swansea. She attended the moderately-priced private school, Dumbarton House in Swansea where she was apparently an average student. Comedian and actor Rob Brydon also went there.

She left school early to further her acting ambitions without obtaining O levels and went on to attend The Arts Educational Schools in Chiswick for a full-time three year course in musical theatre.

Career

Zeta-Jones' stage career began in childhood. She often performed at friends and family functions when she was younger. She was a part of a Catholic congregation's performing troupe before she was 10. She also starred in a London production of Annie, as well as a version of Bugsy Malone. By 1987 she was starring in 42nd Street as Peggy Sawyer in the West End. Once the show closed, Zeta-Jones travelled to France, where she received the lead role in French director Phillippe De Broca's 1001 Nights (also known as Sheherazade), her feature film debut.

Her exotic looks, along with her singing and dancing ability, suggested a promising future, but it was in a straight acting role, as Mariette in the successful television adaptation of H. E. Bates' The Darling Buds of May (1991-93), that she made her name. She briefly flirted with a musical career, having a part in the 1992 album: Jeff Wayne's Musical Version Of Spartacus. In 2003, she won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Velma Kelly in the film Chicago. Chicago also won the Academy Award for Best Film that year. On 22 October 2005, she referenced her award, as guest host on the television show Saturday Night Live, surrounded by four male dancers, mimicking the Bob Fosse-inspired Chicago-style dancing, suggesting in song that, no matter how bad she might be that night, "They Can't Take My Oscar Away". For her role in Chicago, she specifically requested a 1920s-style short bob haircut, so her face could be seen and fans wouldn't doubt she did all her dancing herself.

In 2003 she voiced a role in Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas, as well as starring in Intolerable Cruelty with George Clooney. In 2004 she was in The Terminal, as well as Ocean's Twelve, the sequel to Ocean's Eleven. In 2005 she reprised her role as Elena in The Legend of Zorro, the sequel to The Mask of Zorro. She stars in and produces the rugby-related comedy, Coming Out. The film is produced by her company Milkwood Films.

Private life

Zeta-Jones is married to actor Michael Douglas with whom she has two children. She has the same birthday as her husband, although he is older by 25 years. They were married at the Plaza Hotel in New York City on 18 November 2000. A traditional Welsh choir sang at her wedding; her wedding ring includes a Celtic motif and was bought in the Welsh town of Aberystwyth. Their son, Dylan Michael Douglas, was born 8 August 2000 (her American admirers like to think that he is named after Bob Dylan, a favourite of Douglas, while her British admirers like to think that Dylan Thomas, also born in Swansea, was the inspiration). Their daughter, Carys Zeta Douglas, was born April 20, 2003. While pregnant with Carys, photos were published of Zeta-Jones smoking cigarettes on a private balcony; afterwards, she became the target of anti-smoking and child health and welfare groups due to her behaviour.

Zeta-Jones has decided that her children will grow up aware of their Welsh heritage and has built a seaside home for her parents in her hometown of Swansea. She wants her children to know the Welsh language.

Her elder brother, David A. Jones (also known as Cameron Jones), is Vice President of the film company, Initial Entertainment. He was an executive producer of Gangs of New York. Carrie-Anne Moss (born August 21, 1967 in Burnaby, British Columbia) is a Canadian actress who achieved worldwide fame following her appearances in The Matrix trilogy.

As a child, Moss lived with her mother, Barbara, in Vancouver. At the age of 11, she joined the Vancouver children's musical theatre and later went on to tour Europe with the Magee Secondary School Choir in her senior year. She subsequently enrolled at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena upon her return. In 1985, she left Vancouver for Toronto and became a model. This career took her to Japan and Spain in the late 1980s.

While in Spain, she landed a role in the drama series Dark Justice, her first television appearance. She moved from Barcelona to Los Angeles, California with the series in 1992. Her big breakthrough came when she was chosen to play the latex-clad hacker Trinity in the 1999 box office success The Matrix. She reprised the role of Trinity in two sequels as well as providing voice-overs for video game and animated spin-offs of the film. (Coincidentally, she had previously co-starred in an unrelated made-in-Canada television series also entitled Matrix.) She appeared as Natalie in the critically-acclaimed Memento (2000), and in a supporting role with Juliette Binoche in the Academy Award nominated film Chocolat.

Moss married fellow actor Steven Roy in 1999. They had a son, Owen, together in the summer of 2003. Moss, very keen to protect her and her family's privacy, has not revealed her second son's name, born in November 2005.

At age 16, she began her career as a fashion model. Diaz signed with top modeling agency, Elite Model Management. After graduating from high school, she went to work in Japan and met video director Carlo de la Torre. On her return to America, she moved in with him. For the next few years, her modeling took her around the world, working for contracts with major companies. She modelled for the likes of Calvin Klein and Levi's Jeans hitting model success very early in her illustrious career. She even graced the cover of the July 1990 issue of Seventeen magazines.

For Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, she became the second actress (after Julia Roberts) to earn $20 million for a role; the film underperformed at the box office.

Diaz was mentioned regularly in British comedy series Bo' Selecta, being referred to lovingly as 'Cameron Up-Diaz', and is credited as having appeared in one episodein 2003, though in reality her appearance consisted of little more than Avid Merrion trying to give engagement rings to her and her co-stars at the London premiere of Charlie's Angels.

Diaz was the host of the 2005 MTV television series Trippin'. Maxim Magazine ranked her #22 in their annual hot 100 in 2004, then she ranked #11 in 2005. In 2006 she made the top 10 by ranking in at #7.

Future work for Diaz include a role in Shrek The Third in 2007 where she co-stars with then-boyfriend Justin Timberlake. She was set to team up again with The Mask co-star Jim Carrey in two films Fun with Dick and Jane where she dropped out to star in In Her Shoes. She was recently set to star opposite Carrey again in A Little Game Without Consequence that was planned to start filming in October for a summer release date. Diaz dated actor Matt Dillon for about three years before splitting in 1998. She then had a four-year relationship with actor/singer Jared Leto from 1998 to 2002.

Most recently, Diaz dated singer and former *NSYNC member Justin Timberlake for several years after first meeting each other at the Kids' Choice Awards in 2003. After nearly four years together, the pair issued a joint statement on January 11, 2007, announcing they had broken up, following weeks of break-up rumors.

In October 2004, Diaz and Timberlake were in an altercation with a tabloid photographer outside a hotel. When the photographer and another man tried to photograph Diaz and Timberlake, the celebrities snatched the camera. Pictures of the incident appeared in US Weekly. Representatives for the pair claimed that they were "ambushed" and acting out of self-defense.

Diaz and Timberlake were involved in another paparazzi incident while walking out of a friend's house. The paparazzi jumped out of bushes and photographed them. He then entered his car and allegedly drove it towards Diaz, who had to jump out of the way. Diaz pressed charges against the paparazzi, whose agency supported his actions as legal and safe.

Diaz suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder, and has publicly admitted she is deeply germophobic and habitually rubs doorknobs so hard before opening doors to clean them that the original paint on the doorknobs fades afterwards. Along with her floors, she says, she washes her hands "many times" each day and uses her elbows to push open doors. "I'm not scared of germs. I'm just aware of them," Diaz says. "I'm not into other people's fluids unless I know them really well."

Diaz is appearing in an ad campaign on Japanese television for SoftBank: October/November 2006. Diaz also supports a small west London football club Brentford FC after visiting a Hollywood cafe owned by a Brentford supporter.

In 2004, a commercial S&M video of Diaz and another girl torturing a man leaked to the Internet. She made the video when she was 19. Diaz filed a suit against the Russian Internet site that distributed the video, but the video file is now distributed by many porn sites and Peer-to-peer (P2P) networks.

Diaz has been vocal in her opposition to U.S. President George W. Bush. Before 2000's election (on October 26 to be exact), Diaz wore a shirt that said "I WON'T VOTE FOR A SON OF A BUSH!" while promoting Charlie's Angels on MTV's Total Request Live.[citation needed] During an Oprah appearance before 2004's election, Diaz said "Women have so much to lose... I mean, we could lose the right to our bodies. If you think rape should be legal then don't vote. Calista Kay Flockhart (born November 11, 1964) is an Emmy Award-nominated and Golden Globe-winning American actress. She is best known for her role as the title character in the 1997-2002 television show, Ally McBeal. She now plays Sally Field's TV daughter, Kitty Walker, on the hit ABC drama, Brothers & Sisters, as a political themed television show hostess.

Flockhart was born in Freeport, Illinois, to Ronald Flockhart, an executive for Kraft Foods, and English teacher Kay Calista. She has one older brother, Gary. Her mother reversed her own first and middle names in naming her Calista Kay. (The name Calista means most beautiful in Greek.) Because her father's job required the family to move often, Flockhart was raised with her brother in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, upstate New York, and New Jersey. As a child, she wrote a play called Toyland in which she performed to a small audience at a dinner party. However, she never professed an ambition to become an actress, instead claiming she wanted to be a clown when she grew up.

Flockhart attended Shawnee High School in Medford Township, New Jersey. Following her graduation in 1983, Flockhart attended The Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. While there, she attended a specialized and competitive class, lasting from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. In her sophomore year at Rutgers, Flockhart met aspiring actress Jane Krakowski, the best friend of her roommate. Later they would both work together on Ally McBeal.

Flockhart's acting ability was recognized when William Esper (Mason Gross' theatre director and Flockhart's acting teacher) made an exception to policy by allowing Flockhart to perform on the main stage. Though this venue is usually reserved for juniors and seniors, Harold Scott insisted that Flockhart perform there in his production of William Inge's Picnic. Flockhart graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Theatre in 1988 as one of only a few students who successfully completed the course. She was inducted into the Rutgers Hall of Distinguished Alumni on May 3, 2003.

After receiving her degree, Flockhart moved to New York City in 1989 where she remained until 1997, living with three other women in a two-bedroom apartment and working as a waitress and aerobics instructor whilst she simultaneously sought auditions.

Career

In spring 1989, Flockhart made her first television appearance in a minor role in an episode of Guiding Light as a babysitter.

She made her professional debut on the New York stage, appearing in Beside Herself alongside Melissa Joan Hart at the Circle Repertory Theatre. Two years later, Flockhart appeared in a television movie, Darrow. Though she later appeared in films Naked in New York (1993) and Getting In (1994), her first substantial speaking part in a film was in Quiz Show, directed by Robert Redford.

Flockhart debuted on Broadway in 1994, as Laura in The Glass Menagerie. Actor Julie Harris felt Flockhart should be hired without further auditions, claiming that she seemed ideal for the part. Flockhart received a Clarence Derwent Award for her performance. In 1995, Flockhart became acquainted with actors such as Dianne Wiest and Faye Dunaway when she appeared in the movie Drunks. Later that year, Flockhart starred in Jane Doe as a drug addict. In 1996, Flockhart appeared as the daughter of Dianne Wiest and Gene Hackman's characters, in The Birdcage. Throughout that year, she continued to work on Broadway, playing the role of Natasha in Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters.

Ally McBeal

In 1997 Flockhart was requested to audition for the starring role in David E. Kelley's FOX television series, Ally McBeal. Kelley, having heard of Flockhart, wanted her to audition for the contract part. Though Flockhart at first hesitated due to the necessary commitment to the show in a negotiable contract, she was swayed by the script and travelled to Los Angeles to audition for the part, which she won. She earned a Golden Globe Award for the role in 1998. Flockhart also appeared on the June 29, 1998 cover of Time magazine, placed as the newest iteration in the evolution of feminism, relating to the ongoing debate about the role depicted by her character.

Flockhart maintains that she has never been diagnosed with either anorexia and/or bulimia, nor has she been a user of illegal drugs. She has remarked, however, that while starring in the show she refrained from eating sweets, retaining her slim figure by working out.

Other roles

Flockhart played the role of Helena in the 1999 film version of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. In 2000, she appeared in Things You Can Tell Just by Looking at Her and Bash: Latter-Day Plays, later accompanying Eve Ensler to Kenya in order to protest violence against women, particularly Female Genital Mutilation. Flockhart also starred in the off-Broadway production of Ensler's The Vagina Monologues.

In 2004, Flockhart appeared as Matthew Broderick's psychotic girlfriend in The Last Shot. In the same year, Flockhart travelled to Spain for the filming of Fragile, which premiered in September 2005 at the Venice Film Festival.

She auditioned for the role of Susan Mayer on Desperate Housewives, but lost the role to Teri Hatcher. A couple of years later, she signed a deal for Touchstone Television to star in a weekly series.

Flockhart can currently be seen as right-wing talk radio host Kitty Walker in the ABC TV prime time series Brothers & Sisters, which premiered in September 2006.

Personal life

* Flockhart has been romantically involved with actor Harrison Ford since meeting him at the 2002 Golden Globe Awards after she spilled wine on his award. The pair were dating within a week. When approached to star in the film Indiana Jones 4, Ford requested that Flockhart co-star as his love interest. Though the film producers agreed, Flockhart is not currently attached to the project. Flockhart's reaction was "Oh, yes. If I could kick his ass, absolutely!"

Brittany Anne Murphy (born Brittany Bertolotti on November 10, 1977) is an American actress and singer.

Murphy was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Angelo Bertolotti (an Italian American racketeering criminal) and Sharon Murphy, who is of Irish American and Eastern European descent. Murphy's parents divorced shortly after her birth, and she was raised in Edison, New Jersey and Burbank, California by her single, working-class mother; she has had little contact with her father since the divorce. Murphy was raised a Baptist, but is now non-denominational.

When she was nine years old, Murphy landed a singing role in a musical version of Les Misérables, and had signed on with a manager by the time she turned thirteen.

Murphy landed her first job in Hollywood when she was fourteen, starring as Brenda Drexell in the television series Drexell's Class. She then went on to play Molly Morgan in the short lived The Torkelsons spinoff Almost Home. She was also the lead singer of the band Blessed With Soul in the early 1990s, and was at one time signed on to play late singer Janis Joplin in a biography, but the film was not made because of legal disputes over music rights.

Murphy has since starred in many successful films, including Clueless (1995), 8 Mile (2002) and Uptown Girls (2003) as well as many lesser known films, such as Spun (2003). In the Spring of 2006, Paul Oakenfold along with Brittany Murphy released the single "Faster Kill Pussycat", with the album A Lively Mind which was released on June 6 in the United States. The song has become a club hit, and hit number one on Billboard magazine's Hot Dance Club Play chart. It also hit number seven in the UK singles chart in June 2006. She dabbled in music again with the release of her movie Happy Feet, in which she covered Queen's classic "Somebody to Love" and Earth, Wind & Fire's "Boogie Wonderland".

In May of 2006, Maxim magazine named Murphy #49 on its annual Hot 100 List. She is also featured in their Girls of Maxim Gallery.

She will be the first actress to provide a voice for the animated character Tinkerbell in an upcoming Disney movie.

In February 2006, she was performing in Neil Simon's Broadway production of Barefoot in the Park.On February 3, 2006, it was announced Peet would be joining the cast of the television series Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, which premiered on NBC on September 18, 2006. She stars with Matthew Perry, with whom she worked in The Whole Nine Yards and The Whole Ten Yards, and Sarah Paulson, with whom she co-starred in Jack & Jill. In the show, Peet's character Jordan McDeere is the newly appointed president of the NBS.
